Trauma
Have you been involved in a trauma or suffered a major loss?
Trauma includes people who have symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD):
- flashbacks, recurring nightmares, irrational fears,
- hyper-vigilance (a super-enhanced, automatic reaction to certain harmless stimuli, as if they signaled danger)
- emotional and social dysfunction
Combat veterans, molestation and rape survivors, accident survivors and people who have survived any sort of severe loss or life-threatening trauma may suffer from PTSD.
Most people, though they do not qualify for a diagnosis of PTSD, may have losses, injuries, operations or other traumas that are impacting the quality of their lives.
Some trauma related symptoms that you may be encountering include:
- Anger and rage
- Drug and alcohol use
- Feelings of anxiety
- Phobias
- and many more
Past traumas retain their emotional charge and continue their adverse effect because they have never been fully examined. Like physical pain, emotional pain actually serves a useful purpose: it tells us that there is something that we need to pay attention to and do something about.
If you are experiencing any symptoms of trauma, as I have explained above and desire the emotional charge contained in traumatic events to be reduced or eliminated, therefore relieving you of their negative consequences, please call me at:
